In August 2025, we celebrate Gregg Catlow, IT Director for the Smithfield Police Department, as he retires after an incredible 42 years of service to the department and the Town of Smithfield.
Gregg began his career in law enforcement and retired in 2001 as Detective Commander after a highly respected tenure. But his story didn’t end there—he returned shortly after to take on a new challenge as the department’s IT Director, where he spent the next 22 years building and maintaining the department’s entire technology infrastructure.
Gregg has been the go-to expert for both tech and law enforcement insight, always ready to lend a hand, solve a problem, or share a laugh. His impact on the department is immeasurable, and his dedication unmatched.
We thank Gregg for his outstanding service and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.
